While You're in VT

The Upper Valley and the Woodstock Area has so many wonderful places to visit and explore.

Learn some history, check out Billings Farm This farm was owned by some very famous people like the Rockefellers.  It is also at the foot of the only National Park in Vermont, Mt. Tom.  Mt. Tom has some of our favorite hiking trails.  While you are walking, you can do some bird watching as well.

Spend the day golfing, check out Golf Club at the Woodstock Inn

Enjoy some time shopping around, downtown Woodstock has adorable shops and great buildings.  You can visit the Norman Williams Library which is a historic building.  There is also a covered bridge right in Woodstock that you walk or drive through.

See Dartmouth College, you have to travel about 25 minutes down the road, but while you are in that direction, go to King Arthur Flour for some great baking ideas and ingredients!

Two big ski areas are about 30 minutes in either direction and depending on the weather, you could go skiing for the day or check out the beautiful fall scenery by taking a gondola ride.  Check out Killington or Okemo for more details.

If you feel the need for a little swimming, go to Upper Valley Aquatic Center.  They have beautiful swimming pools and a great place to take the kids.

Day at the spa, we got it!  The Woodstock Inn Spa has a beautiful one!

Need an afternoon refreshment, stop at the Long Trail Brewery for a beer and some good chili!  This is where they actually brew the beer and there is a very short walking tour.

This is just a taste of the area.  If there is something else you would like to do, email me and I will suggest all sorts of things!

If you are making this a vacation and have more time in Vermont, here are some of our suggestions!
  • Go visit Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream!  Great tour and great free samples!
  • Montpelier, the capital of Vermont, has some of our favorite restaurants!  Three Penny Tap Room and the Mad Taco.
  • Head up to Burlington and check out Church St.  Great shopping and people watching.  If you like Chinese Cuisine our favorite is A Single Pebble, the food is authentic and we go there every time we are in Burlington.
  • Lake Champlain is gorgeous and there are several fun activities to do.  I love the scenic boat rides around the lake!
  • The Aquarium is a very good one and offers lots of knowledge about the area's lakes and rivers.
  • There are so many awesome hikes to go on!  I will happily suggest some of our favorites!!!
